McNeil Consumer Healthcare announced a recall of several over-the-counter liquid Children's and Infants' medications on April 30, 2010. Included in this list are the following:

  • Tylenol
  • Motrin
  • Zyrtec
  • Benadryl

This voluntary recall is related to quality control and not related to any adverse reactions from the medications. Only liquid medications are effected by this recall. Please see www.mcneilproductrecall.com for details.

Medication that has been recalled should not be used and should be disposed of in your regular trash. Do not dump medications down the drain or into the toilet. You do not need to do anything special or worry if you recently used any of the recalled medications for your child.

Store brand acetaminophen can be used instead of Tylenol.

Store brand ibuprofen or Advil can be used instead of Motrin.

Store brand cetirizine or Claritin may used instead of Zyrtec.

Store brand diphenhydramine mey be used instead of Benadryl.
